Accordingly, I am no longer practicing law, taking new cases or meeting with clients.
My client files are held by my colleagues at MWM Legal Group, PLC, which has been created by my long-time law partner at Thompson Wildhack, plc, Elizabeth Wildhack, my protege Lamya Moosa, and Courtney McCarthy. [ www.MWMLegalGroup.com ] (703) 237-0027
I have worked in the trusts and estates field since 1977, as both a trust banker and a trusts and estates attorney. Most of the trusts for which I serve as Trustee are special needs trusts. I am a member of The Special Needs Alliance, a national group of attorneys serving the legal needs of persons with disabilities, and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia (1976), and my law degree from the Fordham University School of Law (1979). I am admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and New York.
As a long time resident of Northern Virginia, I am dedicated to serving the Northern Virginia community. I am an active volunteer with The Arc of Northern Virginia and serve as pro bono counsel for the pooled special needs trust sponsored by that organization. Previously, I served on the Board of Directors of Capital Hospice, Governing Board of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Virginia State Bar, and I am a past president of both the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council and the Northern Virginia chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
I have been honored by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as a “Leader in the Law” and have also been consistently recognized in the Washingtonian Top Lawyers listing as well as Super Lawyers and America’s Best Lawyers. In 2022 I was named as one of the 50 top women lawyers in Virginia/West Virginia.
